Senior Full Stack Engineer

Job Overview

Do you want to apply artificial intelligence to tackle some of the most challenging problems in government? Garoux is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. You will help build AI-powered applications to help the federal government perform market research during the procurement process. You will be focused on system architecture and API development, but must be able to pitch in and write frontend code when needed.

Location: Hybrid with 3 days per week on-site at our office in Hyattsville, MD

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect scalable software solutions using modern technologies such as Python, Javascript, and Rust.
  • Develop solutions that leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT and comparable open-source technologies.
  • Lead the development of a full stack software application including REST APIs and user interfaces
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and project scope.
  • Oversee the implementation of Agile methodologies within the development team to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Manage version control using Git, Gitlab, and similar tools.
  • Ensure application performance, security, and reliability through rigorous testing and optimization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Architect or in a similar role within software development.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Java, Rust) and one frontend framework (React, Vue)
  • Publicly available example projects that demonstrate your ability to code.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Github or Gitlab.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure management and application development best practices.
  • Experience developing software on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Knowledge of databases such as MySQL and AWS Opensearch.
  • Curiosity and a drive to learn.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of our work, you must be a US Citizen capable of obtaining a Secret clearance.

  • Salary range: $130,000 - $160,000 / year
